Obsessing over bike seats

I think by now it’s common knowledge that bike seats can cause Erectile Dysfunction (henceforth “ED”) in men, or at least the pop-science mythology is prevalent enough. That “fact” was one of the reasons I was apprehensive about biking in the first place when I started to work in SF two years ago. My esteemed and highly bike-knowledgeable coworker Mark Palange laid my fears to rest by explaining that a seat won’t hurt you so long as you’re sitting on your ischial tuberosities and not your perineum (henceforth “sitbones” and “taint”). Otherwise you’re gonna be crushing nerves and blood vessels, doing nerve damage and greatly reducing bloodflow to your genitals (henceforth “junk”). So I got a bike and looked for seats…

I was just upgrading WordPress and noticed I haven’t said much in a *while*! Not for lack of anything going on, but it’s mostly been personal stuff and work stuff. Seeing as this is already a meta post, I’ll summarize for those following my stream that care (hello, facebook).

Unnecessary “Quotations”

So it’s the holidays, and cards pour in. My roommate has “family members” who like to “inappropriately” quote things in cards. (ie: with “love” to you).

Second Life, CSI Style

A recent CSI:NY episode revolved around Second Life. Unlike your average CSI episode, there was no solution to the murders in the episode – you had to log into [Virtual CSI: NY](http://alpha.cbs.com/primetime/csi_ny/second_life/) in SL to find out what happens next. I think the episode (show?) is cheesy, but a good opportunity to get into SL with a “goal”. If you have tried SL before and didn’t quite know what to do next, this might be worth trying for you.
